Method and sources
Potential = procurement spend or invoice volume per year × number of years (audited spend) × rate × industry factor
Provider figures: around 0.10% p.a. (CASHFiNDER, Sindelar Revision) and 0.25% to 0.50% p.a. for a historical software audit (Xelix).
- CASHFiNDER: "+/- 0,1 % des Einkaufsvolumens p.a."; Sindelar Revision: "0,1% Ihres Einkaufsvolumens".
- Xelix states typically 0.25% to 0.5% of annual spend for its own historical audit.
Origin: market figures from recovery audit providers (CASHFiNDER, Sindelar Revision, Xelix), retrieved on 01.10.2026, according to the MarginValor concept v0.2. These are provider statements, not an independent study.
Rates by maturity: Rheinvalor classification, not a study.
| Maturity | Share of audited spend |
|---|---|
| low | 1.00% to 2.00% |
| medium | 0.75% to 1.50% |
| high | 0.50% to 1.00% |
Rheinvalor classification: 0.5% to 2% of the audited procurement spend over the whole look-back period. At low maturity the rate is above the market figures (up to 2.00%) because MarginValor additionally matches contracts and terms (tiers, rebates, surcharges) systematically. This is an assessment, not a study result.
Industry factor: 1.0 for all industries (not yet differentiated, there are no documented industry values).
